Sorana Baciu is a senior executive with extensive expertise in general management, corporate strategy, and corporate finance, and over 20 years of experience in the private and public field in senior positions.
Sorana has had an international career in investment and commercial banking (within ING Bank and Porsche Finance Group Romania), as well as in oil & gas (within OMV Petrom S.A).
In the recent years (2015-2017) she was also a non-executive director for the largest gas producer in Romania, Romgaz, where she was the Chair of the Audit Committee, and for IAR SA, a Romanian helicopter producer.
During 2015- 2016 Sorana was a State Secretary with the Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Relations with the Business Environment and the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, where she was responsible for the Industry, Competitiveness and Corporate Governance sectors, as well as with Romania’s accession to OECD.
In October 2014 she established a consultancy practice focusing on business performance improvement, change management and turnaround, and investment advisory.
Sorana graduated the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, Romania with an M.A. in International Economic Relations, as well as McGill University in Montreal, Canada with a M.A in Economic Policy Management.
